About Azuki Beans
Azuki Beans are dry beans that are very small and have a reddish brown color to them. They have a sweet flavor and are round with a point on the end. They are very popular in Japan, China, and other places in Asia. They originate in China. Azuki beans are also called adzuki beans, adsuki, aduki, asuki, azuki, chi Dou, feijao, field pea, hong Xiao Dou, red oriental, and Tiensin red. The Azuki bean has been grown in the Far East for centuries. They are not found in the wild. Originated in China and were introduced to Japan in about 1000 AD.
